These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website located at https://locentry.com/ and related services operated under the Locentry name.

By using Locentry, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

1. Service overview

Locentry is an editorial directory that publishes factual listings for businesses, creators, organizations, websites, venues, communities, and other real entities. Listings may be curated by editors, submitted by users, or claimed by owners.

Locentry may review, reject, edit, publish, unpublish, or remove submissions at its discretion.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be legally able to enter into a binding agreement to use the site. If you create an account, you agree to:

  • provide accurate information,
  • keep your login credentials secure,
  • notify us if you believe your account has been compromised,
  • accept responsibility for activity under your account.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create risk for the site or its users.

3. User submissions

You may submit listings, claims, corrections, messages, and other content. You represent that:

  • you have the right to submit the content,
  • the content is accurate to the best of your knowledge,
  • the content is not misleading, defamatory, unlawful, infringing, or malicious,
  • the content does not contain spam, malware, or deceptive links,
  • the content uses factual and non promotional descriptions where requested.

4. Editorial control

Locentry is a moderated editorial directory. We may:

  • request verification,
  • edit grammar, structure, formatting, categorization, and factual descriptions,
  • add source signals or moderation notes,
  • decline to publish submissions,
  • remove or revise content after publication,
  • change category placement or geographic associations,
  • mark listings as claimed, verified, sponsored, pending, rejected, inactive, or removed.

Publication is not guaranteed.

5. License for submitted content

By submitting content to Locentry, you grant us a non exclusive, worldwide, royalty free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, format, publish, display, distribute, and use the content for directory operation, moderation, security, and promotional references to the directory itself.

You retain ownership of content you own, subject to the rights granted in these Terms.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • violate any law or regulation,
  • submit false, deceptive, or impersonated claims,
  • scrape, harvest, or extract data in a way that harms the service or violates law,
  • interfere with site security or functionality,
  • upload malware or malicious code,
  • attempt unauthorized access,
  • use the site to defame, harass, stalk, threaten, or exploit others,
  • misuse contact forms, account systems, or listing claim processes,
  • use automated systems in ways that burden the service without permission.

Reasonable search engine indexing and ordinary browser access are not prohibited by this section.

7. Listing accuracy and reliance

Locentry aims to publish neutral and useful directory information, but we do not guarantee that every listing is complete, current, accurate, or suitable for your purposes.

Use of directory information is at your own risk.

8. Third party content and links

The site may contain links to third party websites and third party content. We do not control and are not responsible for third party sites, services, policies, or content.

9. Sponsored placements

If sponsored placements are offered, they must be disclosed and handled according to Locentry policy. Sponsorship does not guarantee publication of unlawful, misleading, or policy violating content.

10. Intellectual property

The Locentry service, site design, software, branding, layout, text selection, and editorial compilation are protected by applicable intellectual property law.

Except for your own submitted content, you may not copy, republish, distribute, or create derivative works from the site content at scale without permission, except as permitted by law.

11. Privacy

Your use of the site is also governed by the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

12. Disclaimers

THE SITE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LOCENTRY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON INFRINGEMENT.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error free operation, or that the site will always be secure or available.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LOCENTRY AND ITS OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, CONTRACTORS, MODERATORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE TOTAL LIABILITY OF LOCENTRY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SITE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO LOCENTRY IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

14. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Locentry and its operators, affiliates, moderators, contractors, and service providers from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of:

  • your content,
  • your misuse of the site,
  • your violation of these Terms,
  • your violation of law or another party's rights.

15. Termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to any user, account, submission, or listing at any time, with or without notice, if we believe it is necessary for operational, editorial, legal, or security reasons.

16. Changes to the service and these Terms

We may change, suspend, or discontinue part of the site at any time.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after updated Terms become effective means you accept the revised Terms.

17. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction identified in Locentry operational records, without regard to conflict of laws principles.

Any dispute arising from these Terms or the site shall be brought exclusively in the courts with lawful jurisdiction over the applicable dispute, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
